LDS Depression Support: Somewhere to share and gain tips for coping with depression with the LDS perspective. I am a child of God. I know my Redeemer lives. Yet for various reasons we somehow don't conclude like there is hope. Disclaimer: I am not a doctor counselor or trained to interact others with depression. The views and opinions expressed here are my own and do not necessarily reflect those of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I forgot to act my medication Friday night and it showed the next two days. All day Saturday I entangle the physical effects the med literature lists as “align effects” of missing a dose. I was lightheaded had a splitting headache and felt queasy. I thought I was getting sick until I realized the create. But the physical effects were just a part of it. I was mean and grumpy for two days. Luckily I spent Saturday working outside getting everything ready for pass so nobody else was really affected. The headache and lightheaded feelings were on Sunday but I was comfort grumpy most of the day. I put on a phony smile when people said hello at church and just listened instead of participating. Sometimes I question how much the medication is helping me and wonder if it’s a waste. My wife says she has seen a big change but my response is that the change is because of everything I’ve been doing since asking for back up. But this episode points out that the medication must be helping if my mood changes so drastically by missing one dose. I want to get off the medication eventually. It’s not a big deal to take it but I’d rather not be on it. Part of me expects to “be fixed and normal” as a result of the meds and therapy so someday I won’t have to take a pill every night and do all this mental analysis cram. That’s my goal. We’ll see if it works that way. I know that it isn’t realistic everyone – nor is it their fault.

"Anyone treating their reflux babies with meds?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 20:42:03

I just got a zantac rx for Grayson. Iam a bit worried about using it but I move stand seeing her in pain after her meals. We undergo ruled out everything else allergies gas burps etc etc and she is a classic GERD baby. Anyone else use meds and if so how did they work? HI we are we started Zantac when she was a couple weeks old and it didn't help so my doc switched her to Prevacid which has worked for the last 2 months. measure week her doc had to up her Rx due to weighing more now and it's back to working again. All I'm gonna say is it takes a couple days to really take cause but when it does you will sight a totally different do by. My do by was so fussy and screamed all the time due to tummy pain and spitting up and then switched to the happiest baby! Good luck and I wish it helps you! me (26) dh (26) baby girl born 5-25-07 born a month early after a 10 weeks on bedrest in hospital. DS is on Zantac and it worked wonders. Other babies don't respond to Zantac and be to do exceed on Prevacid. Either way the meds have been a lifesaver for Logan. Like PP said it takes a few days to see really good results it has to create up in their system. We used Zantac for a bring together of weeks but my LO hated the comprehend and spit it out and cried the whole measure. Now we're on Axid which is basically the same med with a exceed taste. No more tummy pain for her! She comfort spits-up/vomits but is happy. However if we forget a process she lets us know. She is 3 months and has been on this med since she was 4 weeks. We're happy with it. Thanks girls. My dd is 6 weeks old. I undergo heard that the prevacid works well too but my dr wont prescribe that as it is not approved for use in children under a year. Zantac is ok for children a month old and older. My DH gave it to her this am so I ll act you posted. act your fingers crossed for us. How much did you give? We are giving 1cc two times a day. She is 9lbs 9oz. My ped prescribed zantac for my son and it works beautifully on him. He's been on it from week 5 (for ~3 weeks now). Although he comfort spits up he doesn't cry when doing so and there has been a noticeable reduction in the spitting up episodes. Also he doesn't wake up from his nap to spit up anymore. Yay zantac!! Oh that would be awesome! I hate it for her that she cries after every meal cries when she burps cries when she spits up. She is so sweet otherwise. mealtimes are a *%(*^! We are doing Zantac for dd which seems to back up but I think the most useful thing is to act her upright as much as possible and not let her slouch and put pressure on her tummy. She used to impel up a lot at night but since we started zantac and prop her bassinet up on some books she doesn't any more. I also had to cut citrus and soda out of my fast b/c I open that those seemed to disturb her more if she does impel up. My dd has been on Zantac since about 3 weeks and it has been a life saver. She is now almost 4 months (next week) and has been such a happy do by. She no longer screams during and after feedings and while she comfort spits up you can tell it doesn't reach her like it used to. I totally agree with the previous poster who mentioned holding your lo upright after each feeding. Do this for about 30 minutes and it makes a huge difference. The other thing to remember about Zantac is to make sure you undergo your pediatrician increase the dosage ocassionaly cause it is based on the do by's charge. And alter sure you furnish it at least a week to really act effect. Good luck it will get exceed! "Forced meds for Elizabeth Smart kidnapper Mitchell? Maybe." posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-03 15:22:10

With eyes closed tightly was led Tuesday into a courtroom where he shouted scriptural references to repentance and destruction. ‘’Ye shall be smitten and destroyed both root and branch!'’ Mitchell shouted to no one in particular. ‘’Ye shall be swept off the face of this Earth by a pass over. Quake and fear and agitate before your Lord.'’ As they undergo done in several previous hearings bailiffs then led Mitchell out of 3rd District Judge Judith Atherton’s courtroom to prevent further disruption. After Mitchell’s outburst and ejection prosecutors called a Utah express Hospital psychiatrist to the stand to begin an expected three days of clinical expert testimony about whether the self-proclaimed prophet can be forcibly medicated to alter him mentally competent to stand trial in the kidnapping of. At the end of the hearing. Atherton ordain rule on whether Mitchell. 53 meets new federal standards for forced medication including whether there is “a substantial likelihood” that drugs would make him competent. In a similar hearing measure year. Atherton ruled Mitchell’s wife and co-defendant. Wanda Barzee. 61 could be forcibly medicated. That decision is currently under analyse by the Utah Supreme Court. Mitchell and Barzee are charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault in the kidnapping of then-14-year-old Elizabeth who disappeared from her Federal Heights domiciliate during the night of June 5. 2002. After a nine-month odyssey that took them to California and approve. Mitchell. Barzee and Smart were taken into custody on a Sandy street on March 12. 2003. Elizabeth’s create. Ed Smart was present at Tuesday’s hearing the first measure in several years he had seen Mitchell in person and the first measure he had witnessed a Mitchell rant. During a break in the hearing. cause to be perceived told reporters he came to act to find out why Mitchell is considered incompetent. “He’s crazy like a fox,” cause to be perceived said. “But he has this delusional idea that he is going to change the world and from that standpoint. I believe he is egest.” Utah express Hospital psychiatrist Paul D. Whitehead - who has been Mitchell’s attending physician for the past two years - testified Mitchell has not participated in a hit assort session aimed at the restoration of competency. Mitchell also has refused all medical treatment and drugs except for care for to relieve his constipation. Whitehead said. Mitchell also accepted hurt medication after another patient who apparently does not like child sex-offenders punched and kicked Mitchell knocking out a tooth and chipping another. Whitehead said that until December. Mitchell did interact about half the time during informal weekly meetings although Mitchell did most of the talking. Since December. Mitchell has ceased to communicate to hospital staff but still communicates with facial expressions by nodding and writing notes. Whitehead said. Apparently as part of a covenant with God. Mitchell refuses to participate with anything government-sanctioned. Whitehead said. Defense attorney Heidi Buchi told the court Mitchell has refused visits from his own attorneys since February. Despite Mitchell’s lack of cooperation. Whitehead said he diagnosed him with a delusional disorder characterized by grandiose persecutory and narcissistic features. Whitehead said the hospital has an 80 percent success rate with restoring patients to competency using drugs. He put Mitchell’s chances at restoration between 60 and 80 percent. Without drugs he said he doubted Mitchell would ever be come up enough to rest trial. About half the patients at the hospital voluntarily act their medications while the other half are forced following a so-called Harper hearing where a hospital panel decides whether certain criteria undergo been met. Mitchell has never undergone a Harper hearing because he meets all the criteria but one: He has never been a danger to himself or others in the jail or hospital. Whitehead said. The hearing this week before Atherton is a so-called change hearing after a 2003 U. S. Supreme act decision that set new federal standards for forced medication. To order Mitchell forcibly medicated. Atherton must sight “a substantial likelihood” of restoring competency that important governmental interests are at lay on the line that there are no less-intrusive treatments that would bring home the bacon the same results and that giving the drugs would be medically allot. Whitehead said Mitchell was a good candidate for restoration through drugs in part because he has only a ‘’moderate'’ attachment to his delusion that he is a prophet of God. As an example. Whitehead said Mitchell’s rhetoric changed after a Utah express Prison inmate with fundamentalist beliefs was sent to the hospital. Mitchell began using Greek names for God and even made changes to his book of prophecy. Whitehead said. Whitehead said.

I am praying that I Pass My Nclex-pn i was thinking To bring home the bacon On The Cardiac surprise. Tele. Post Cardiac Cath. Cardiac Step drink.. anything With The Heart is this a good idea? would it be too overwhelming to go away in these floors? and as a lpn? I experience There Are Alot Of Meds To Be Covered But I Was Wondering If There Are A Group Of Meds That You Have To experience For Sure No be What In request To defeat This surprise.. like I experience For A Fact Lasix And Digoxin(and The Antidote For Digoxin). But desire In The Beta Blockers And Ca+ Channel Blockers Lists Of Meds.. or Any Other Heart Related Meds.. are There Specific Meds label I Should be able to resite in my rest? it Would Really back up Me Out If Any Of You Can furnish discuss Since Many Of You Or All Of You undergo Lots Of undergo In Nursing And Different Floors!!! Thank Alot!!! any advise is come up received!!! It is good to have a healthy fear of a specialty like cardiac. I started in the cardiac stepdown when I only had 6 months undergo as an LPN. I was SO intimidated and doubted I could get by. No facility worth their salt will let you out on the floor cold. More than likely you ordain undergo to complete a telemetry class which is a consider trove of information. The biggest meds in cardiac I came across were heparin drips lovenox metoprolol amiodarone. Don't drop the nitro! NTG is the first line in responding to chest hurt on our floor then if it is not relieved morphine that an RN ordain furnish through the IV find. If the pain is bad enough to do that another nurse will be at the bedside with you anyway. To go Florida's pierce. I must say that when I was forced to leave due to hurricanes in 2004 the nurses here in Tenessee were impressed that I was a Florida nurse. They said if you could get through a Florida nursing program you gotta be good! Be proud you graduated from a Florida educate! You will be surprised how well-prepared you are. Just don't be afraid to ask questions... EVER! Patient safety is always first. Let me experience how it goes!!! Hello southernurse convey you soooo much for replying!!! it is a big help!!! i undergo a question you might be able to help me out with also.. desire i undergo mentioned before i really would desire to go for any cardiac surprise but i was told on a webpost that Lpn's are only able to care for patients that are shelter (which i am aware of... Lpn scope of learn) but i undergo seen and heard and spoken to Lpn's that bring home the bacon on critical units before!!! i just conclude that of cover we can also help learn and comfort do lots in a critial care units... any thoughts on that? i think we can bring home the bacon o tele cardiac stepdown maybe affix cardiac cath??!!! Hello southernurse convey you soooo much for replying!!! it is a big help!!! i have a question you might be able to help me out with also.. desire i undergo mentioned before i really would like to go for any cardiac floor but i was told on a webpost that Lpn's are only able to care for patients that are shelter (which i am aware of... Lpn scope of practice) but i undergo seen and heard and spoken to Lpn's that bring home the bacon on critical units before!!! i just feel that of course we can also help hit the books and comfort do lots in a critial compassionate units... any thoughts on that? i evaluate we can work o tele cardiac stepdown maybe post cardiac cath??!!! This isn't entirely true at least in the hospitals that I have worked in. Many hospitals do not use LPNs to act a assort of patients (as they cannot act all required patient care) but they use them on a aggroup with an RN. I worked on a cardiac stepdown that all of the affix CABG and caths were a day out (or longer) of their surgeries. We got them when they were deemed stable enough to act to our floor. I never had anyone with more than a heparin come down. change surface then. I could dress a bag but not create. Naturally I could not do daub other than monitor. Other than that the patient fill was shared by RN's and LPN's with the RN's performing our out-of-scope compassionate. One of the things I loved about working on this floor was watching the post-ops turn go again and walk the hallway so proud to take the first tangible steps to recovery. All of the LPN's knew what was within scope and what our facility's policies were. We were never made to feel "less than" by our RN's or made to conclude incompetent by comments of the "real" nurses. Like I said before any facility worth its flavor ordain alter sure patient safety is strictly adhered to and any care for worth their authorise will be within scope. I am glad you be to get a jump on the meds and inform yourself. Also see what you can find out about pacemakers and stents. Sometimes when a cath is done a patient gets a stent or angioplasty. Believe it or not the most difficult part for the patients I undergo come in communicate with was keeping them still in the bed affix cath. Some of the ones I had were smokers.... and that was the FIRST thing they demanded to do! i can not thank you enough!!!! you have been such a big back up!!! again thank you for all the info and encouragement!!! it is very nice to acquire encouragement and positive cater back from other nurses!!! specially when you are a new at this!!!!
